🎨 Back to the Wall: A Decade Later, The Junction Mural Gets a Fresh Coat

The Junction neighbourhood holds a special place in my heart, and this month, I had the incredible honor of being invited back to refresh a piece of its history.
It’s been a long run—2012 to 2025! I originally painted this mural wall for the owners over a decade ago. It stood strong, but as is the nature of outdoor art, time, the elements, and some unwelcome tags had started to take their toll. Add in a few building renovations, and it was definitely time for a makeover.
Finding the Balance: Old School Meets New School

When approaching this new commission, my goal was clear: honor the original imagery while injecting a modern, graffiti-inspired approach.
Let’s be real, many murals, especially those near train stations, can start to look quite similar. I wanted to break that mold. The new design is a deliberate blend, a nod to both traditional mural culture and contemporary street art. It’s about creating something visually arresting that respects the area's history but also moves the conversation forward.
I poured my energy into this project, completing the entire transformation in four intense days. When you're passionate about the work, you put your whole self into it!
A Community Thank You

The best part of the whole experience? The incredible reception from the Junction community. All week long, I received nothing but thanks and encouragement from neighbours and passersby. Your support truly fuels the work. Thank you all so much for letting me bring color back to your corner of the city!
